Monday, March 9th: Two important astro-events are taking place now—the Virgo SuperMoon (also called Worm Moon, Crow Moon, Crust Moon, Sap Moon and Lenten Moon) and Mercury in Aquarius going retrograde/stationary and direct, that is, Mercury apparently slowing down (stationary) and moving out of the retrograde phase (began February 17th) into direct motion once again (March 9th at 11:48 EDT).

According to astrologer Richard Nolle who first coined the term “SuperMoon” in 1979, this is the first REAL Supermoon of  2020.  SuperMoons affect weather patterns, the economy and to a great extent set the pulse, the emotional barometer, for months to come! A Full Moon is a Supermoon when the Moon gets as close, or nearly as close, as it can to the earth (note: the April 8th Full Moon in Libra is even closer). The Moon appears larger than usual and being that the Moon is a reflector of mass emotion, a lot can get out-of-control, whipped up by mass hysteria and chaos. This has certainly been an emotional time!

But the Virgo SuperMoon can be especially unsettling, since we’re feeling not only our own fears, frustrations and trepidations (the Moon opposite the Sun and Neptune in Pisces), but also those around (which we may mistakenly interpret as our own). Besides the current Covid-19 crisis, plenty is going on in our own personal lives as well. Since the Pisces New Moon on February 23rd, some have found their faith tested like never before. If this be the case with you, know that the Full Moon may well bring you some sense of peace and resolution moving forward.

Now is the time to achieve self-mastery. Nationally and personally, we must choose faith over fear, objective problem solving over emotional reactions, reflective wisdom over despair—even or especially in the face of uncertainty, for uncertainty is part of the package now (Full Moon in Virgo opposite Sun and Neptune in Pisces).  Prayer and meditation are essential tools. We need to use our mind to tap inner spiritual resources and secure a sense of peace regardless of circumstance. The bottom line is that this is a test we must choose to pass!

Kuan Yin’s Mantra, Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus, calms emotional storms, evokes a sense of calm and helps one return to a state of gratitude and peace: OM MANI PADME HUM.  Imagine souls throughout the world united in the chanting of this mantra, bringing forth the blessings of this compassionate and merciful Buddha.

The positive potential of this particular SuperMoon is considerable: the Moon (At 19 degrees Virgo) forms a harmonious trine to the powerful planets (Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn) at the heart of all the social upheaval and widespread awakening we’re experiencing, plus the action planet Mars—strong in Capricorn—joins the team. Now’s the time to translate intuitive prompts and inner guidance into practical steps that work!

As Mercury in Aquarius goes direct tonight, I trust we will begin to uncover that which was hidden, to see that which we could not see clearly, to expose webs of deception and false information. I have faith that the current world crisis (Covid-19) will somehow turn out to be a blessing in disguise—perhaps in uniting us to strive in right spirit toward common goals, perhaps in bringing essential meds and other important industries back to our nation, perhaps in helping us learn how we can join together to discover viable solutions on the road to healing and thus become ever spiritually stronger, physically healthier, wiser and fulfilled.
